Wii

Q: How do know your child is playing the Wii too much?

A: When your 3 year old says at dinner, "Mom, this roll looks just like a boxing remote".

That is what James said the other day. Where do they come up with these things?

GO MOM!

My mother won 3rd place in the Gilbert Art Show for one of her drawings! She is the most talented person I know!

My sister Amy and nephew Landon are also in the picture. They just moved here - YEA!

Jester'Z

Last night Ray and I went to an improv comedy show called Jester'Z. We went with Melanie and her family and it was really fun! I have't laughed that hard in a long time! It's great because it's clean but still so funny. I will need to go again. I've been taking life too seriously lately!

Renaissance Festival

My dad loves festivals, all sorts of festivals. So on Monday we made our yearly venture to the Renaissance Festival. One year my dad even swung by the Greek Festival on the way home from the Renaissance Festival. I went on the bungee trampoline and did a few moves, but nothing as amazing as Bethany's performance last year. My mom said she looked just like Peter Pan.

Ailey II

Ray and I saw Ailey II last night at Chandler Center for the Arts, and it was awesome! They are a modern/jazz dance company. Ray bought the tickets for me for Christmas. Wasn't that a thoughtful gift? It was excellent and the dancers were so strong and flexible (I really need to get back in shape)! I was reminded why I love the art of dance so much. Dance is such a great way to convey emotion, and I'm so grateful for the role it has played in my life. They did some newer pieces , as well as some of Alvin Ailey's original works, like Revelations, which was choreographed in 1960 and set to gospel music. Here is the link if you want to see bits and pieces of that one: http//www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWJzSP7irwM

I was grateful to be able to watch President Hinckley's funeral yesterday. What a wonderful example! I especially liked Pres. Eyring's comments about how optimistic President Hinckley was, and how this was a direct result of his unwavering faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He would always say, "Things will work out". One of my favorite quotes from Pres. Hinckley is this one: "I am asking that we stop seeking out the storms and problems of life, and enjoy more fully the sunlight." I can definitely improve in this area. I'm afraid I'm a "storm seeker" most of the time, and I really want to change that. I'm going to try to follow his example and be more positive!
